Just a kick in the grass, or on the turf

When I worked in football we used to debate long and passionately about qualities that go into making a player special. Now that I'm a photographer I guess the question is how do I use this knowledge to portray the game that I love.

For me it's always been about high quality technique with an ability to perform at pace as well as under pressure. The player must also be able to perform in motion and I just love to see great balance.

New York State X Country Championships

Runners reflections, Lakeside Park, Pawling New York

A first for me at the weekend with a chance to photograph the New York State High School Cross Country championships taking place at Lakeside Park in Pawling.

I was working for Max Preps but able to take full advantage of what is a lovely venue.It was a beautiful day throughout, not a cloud in the sky as well as a tranquil, reflective lake. The low, bright sunshine can prove to be a challenge for a photographer but here are a few of my favorite images why dont you take a lookand see what you think.

I received a draft copy of the cover of my book today, so although there are still quite a few months to go before it actually hits the shelves I thought it would be nice to post a quick blog for all to see it.

I've also been hard at work updating my website and trying to get it into some sort of navigable form so that I can set about marketing my talents properly. There's still a bit of work to do but I'm getting there - I'm using my sundialphotographic domain name as a subsite linked to my main website. This will then become a vehicle to promote my sports photography and writing.
